Power Quick Pot vs Instant Pot
Instant Pot is such a well-known brand with so many different models; it is easy to forget that other pressure cookers actually exist! However, there are other brands out there, and in some cases, they look like a better deal than the Instant Pot brand. So we take a look at the Power Quick Pot vs Instant Pot to find out which one is best.
Instant Pot
Instant Pot is the undisputed market leader in the USA. Known for being easy to use, a fantastic website and App which provides you with literally thousands of recipes and cooking tips, plus thousands of satisfied customers. The Instant Pot range is known for quality and innovation at a reasonable price.
The best selling Instant Pot model is the Duo with over 53,000 customer reviews on Amazon alone. The Duo is a multi-function electric pressure cooker that offers you 7 different appliances in one. You can use it as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, yogurt maker, and warmer. The interface is user-friendly, and with 14 preset one-touch pressure cooking options, you can carry out a range of pressure cooking methods by just following the instructions and touching the button.
Instant Pot has many built-in safety functions – at least 10 with most models and more if you upgrade to a more expensive model such as the Nova or the Ultra. Instant Pot is always developing more refinements and options to their range so you can be confident to be benefiting from the latest cutting edge technology.
That said, there are some concerns about this brand. Customer service is not brilliant, unfortunately, and in the odd case of malfunction or technical problems, customers have complained about a lack of response from the company. There is no customer warranty or guarantee with the Instant Pot, so you only have the fact that there are thousands of satisfied customers to convince you that this brand is better than others on the market.
One of the best points about the Instant Pot is the popularity and the fact that this brand is the benchmark on which other pressure cookers are judged.
Pros
- Well known brand and very popular with customers
- Easy to use and many built-in safety functions
- Great website and App offers you thousands of recipes and cooking tips
- Stainless steel inner pot
Cons
- Instant Pot does occasionally go wrong. When this happens, you can’t expect much support from the company
- Although the Instant Pot comes with glossy advertising, is it better made than other makes?
- Unsuitable for canning
Power Quick Pot
The Power Quick Pot looks very similar to the Instant Pot Duo. This is no coincidence because the manufacturers have obviously copied the design of the USA‘s best-known brand, and even the name Quick Pot is very similar to Instant Pot.
The Power Quick Pot is available only in 6 qt size (the most popular size) and has an impressive array of functions. As well as pressure cooking and slow cooking, you can use this multi-function appliance for: sous vide, steam, sauté, cake making, yogurt making, and canning. In all, there are 37 smart functions advertised, which must be some kind of record.
Overall the Power Quick Pot is probably one of the most versatile pressure cookers we have seen, and for the money, it looks like a great deal. It only costs $59.00, which is at least $20 cheaper than a basic Instant Pot Duo, yet the Quick Pot seems to offer so much more. Many customers have used it for canning and love the versatility of this appliance.
There are some complaints about quality. Some customers have complained that the Quick Pot is flimsy and that although it is manufactured from stainless steel, this is very thin and easy to damage. There are also some technical issues, and although there is a guarantee, it only lasts 60 days, after which time you are on your own.
Besides, the instructions are said to be inadequate. There are no washing instructions regarding the lid, and many people have complained that the Quick Pot is clunky and difficult to use. Some customers have also complained about the inadequate recipe book and have been left confused by this so-called easy to use kitchen appliance.
With only 69 ratings at the time of writing, the fact that 16 customer reviews are mostly complaints is a matter of concern.
If something is too good to be true, it probably isn’t, as the old saying goes, and although the Quick Pot promises a fantastic array of functions at a knockdown price, it does not seem to be manufactured to a very high standard of quality. That said, some customers are satisfied with it and have enjoyed using this appliance.
Pros
- Cheaper than the Instant Pot
- A fantastic array of functions; 37 in total
- Some good customer feedback
- Can be used for canning
Cons
- A high percentage of customer complaints
- Inadequate instructions and very few recipes provided
- Not very good quality
In conclusion
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so the fact that the Quick Pot has paid homage to the Instant Pot when it comes to the appearance and design does tend to suggest there is some pressure cooker hero worship going on! However, the Quick Pot promises to do even more than the Instant Pot, and with an advertised 37 separate functions, it looks like a real bargain. Although we love that this pressure cooker does so much, even canning, we have our concerns. There is not much customer feedback – only 69 reviews on Amazon at the time of writing. With a high proportion of complaints and negative comments, the Quick Pot just does not look very convincing or reliable.
There may be other pressure cooker brands out there, but when it comes to the Quick Pot, we don’t think that this one is an excellent alternative to the Instant Pot.
