Mealthy MultiPot problems

Imagine being in the middle of a cooking session and the MultiPot starts showing problems. The most common Mealthy MultiPot problems are the pressure and sealing issues. In case you have the Mealthy MultiPot pressure cooker and it won’t pressurize or seal, we are here to fix the issues for you.

Mealthy MultiPot Pressure Cooker Common Problems:

When the pressure cooker is unable to build pressure, you must utilize the water test. The water test helps determine if the pressure cooker isn’t working or the meal is responsible for pressure building issues. With water test, put one cup of water into the MultiPot, close the pressure cooker lid, and do seal in the sealing ring. Also, the steam release valve must be set into the sealing position.

Then, pressure cook for around five minutes and see if the pressure builds up. If the pressure builds up, it was a probable issue with the food. On the contrary, if the pressure doesn’t build up, we have outlined additional steps that you must follow;

1. Sealing Ring

When it comes down to a pressure cooker unable to build pressure, the sealing ring might be at fault. The issues like damages, worn-out, old, and loose sealing rings will adversely influence the pressure buildup. For people who use the MultiPot a lot, check out the sealing ring and replace it if needed. Also, after using the pressure cooker, always clean them after every use. In case the sealing ring is in optimal condition, just take it out and place it correctly.

2. Steam Release Valve

When the MultiPot is unable to build pressure and there is nothing wrong with the sealing ring, you must check the steam release valve. When the steam release valve is placed incorrectly or has a wrong position, there will be a pressure buildup issue. The users must position the steam release valve in the sealing position. The steam release valve must not be in a venting position.

3. Food Stuck To Bottom

MultiPot has a strong heating element which means food often burns and can stick to the bottom. Also, people who tend to use the sauté feature without deglazing, they struggle with pressurizing issues. Keep in mind that MultiPot will not build pressure if there is a tiny bit of food stuck to the bottom. In case you are suspecting this cause, you need to follow the below-mentioned steps;

  • Remove the power from the MultiPot and don’t forget to hit the cancel button
  • Add water or broth to the pot as it helps deglaze the bottom and leave it for ten to fifteen minutes
  • Now, take the wooden spatula or spoon for scraping off the food from the bottom
  • Once the bottom of the pressure cooker is clean, add the food ingredients and try using it again

4. Insufficient Liquid

MultiPot pressure cooker needs water or liquid for building pressure. This is because it creates steam that leads to pressure buildup. In case you are using MultiPot to cook dishes with tomatoes, chili, gumbo, or tomato sauce, the pressure buildup issues will persist. For preventing this issue, you must not cook such dishes in this pressure cooker.

On the contrary, if you have already started cooking, follow the below-mentioned steps, so the pressure buildup can initiate again;

  • Switch off the MultiPot and hit the cancel button
  • Add at least half a cup of water or broth (whichever cooking liquid will be suitable)
  • Try to add water on the sides and use the spoon for scraping off the ingredients from the sides
  • Now, add 1/3th cup of water to the MultiPot and seal in the lid again
  • Push the pressure valve in the sealing position and try again

5. Lid Not Fully Closing

When MultiPot’s lid is not fully closed, it will lead to pressure buildup issues. For fixing this issue, you must open the lid and close it again by turning it clockwise. The users must ensure that valves and seals are in the correct position. As a result, the pressure buildup will be optimized with MultiPot.

6. Not Switching On

For the Mealthy MultiPot, power issues are pretty common. If the MultiPot is not switching on, it’s only because of the power issues. The users must check the power cables and ensure that they are working alright. If there are physical damages, just replace the cable. You could also use the multimeter for checking the continuity issues.
