What is Instant Pot?

Instant Pot is a very famous Canadian brand that was formed over a decade ago in 2009. The brand is famed for its great multicookers which are used widely around the world. Instant Pot offers a wide range of different models, each with its own distinctions and specialties. Instant Pot’s multicookers mainly don’t offer any problems and are quite easy to use. This a major reason why they’re so popular.

However, the popularity of Instant Pot’s multicookers doesn’t mean that they’re perfect. A few issues can occur when you try to use your Instant Pot, including a problem where the multicooker doesn’t seal. When this happens, you’ll obviously have some trouble cooking using the device. This is why you’ll want to get the error fixed easily. You have nothing to worry about if you’re also facing this problem, like quite a few others that use Instant Pots. This is a common problem and it can be fixed easily by simply following the fixes given below.

How to Fix your Instant Pot if it Won’t Seal

1. Check the Power Supply

Before getting to all the other complicated solutions, you might want to ensure that your Instant Pot is connected to the power properly. Make sure that the Instant Pot’s power cable is connected properly on both ends. It is also recommended that you ensure that the socket you’ve connected your Instant Pot to is working properly.

 2. Check the Sealing Ring

The sealing ring is one of the most important components of the Instant Pot and you can probably guess that it has a key role when it comes to sealing the pot. Make sure that this sealing ring never gets damaged. Pulling on it too hard or using it excessively can cause it to tear or get permanently damaged. When this happens, the only thing left to do is purchase a new sealing ring for your Instant Pot.

Another thing that you’ll have to check your sealing ring for is food residue. To be more specific, ensure that the sealing ring doesn’t have any food stuck on it or anything else of the sort which may prevent it from sealing properly. Clean it regularly in order to prevent this from ever happening.

3. Slow Sealing Caused by Food

The type of food that you’re trying to make inside of the Instant Pot also has an effect on sealing. As you probably know, the pot only seals after it is pressurized. One it is done pressurizing, it will seal. However, a large number of liquids make the Instant Pot take a longer amount of time in order to pressurize. This ultimately means that the sealing will also be much slower. This is also the case for frozen foods.

4. Clean the Instant Pot

Make sure that your Instant Pot is always completely clean. A dirty Instant Pot can present quite a few issues, including problems with sealing. Food left at the bottom of the pot is a main reason that comes to mind when it comes to sealing problems. Simply keep the Instant Pot clean and make sure that there isn’t any food stuck on the inside.
