DeLonghi Slow Cooker Problems
1) LCD Display Light Not Lighting Up
The LCD display light of the De’Longhi slow cooker must switch on if you want to control the slow cooker properly and want to keep an eye on the cooking functions. There are several reasons behind the LCD display not switching on issue. In the section below, we are sharing some ways to fix the LCD display light issue, such as;
- The first step is to examine the power plug of your slow cooker. This is because it must be tightly and firmly plugged into the power outlet to work properly
- If you have already plugged De’Longhi slow cooker into the power outlet tightly, why don’t you check the power outlet and see if it’s functional. The simple turnaround is to plug your De’Longhi slow cooker in a different power outlet (if the power outlet is faulty, get it fixed)
- Thirdly, you must check the circuit breaker in the De’Longhi circuit breaker. If your area has electricity issues or fluctuations, there are chances that the circuit breaker has fused. To check the circuit breaker, call the electrician and ask them to install a new circuit breaker. In addition, if the circuit breaker is fused, you might smell the smokiness
- If the De’Longhi slow cooker’s circuit breaker is working fine but the LCD display light is not lighting up, some internal components of slow cooker might have malfunctioned. For this reason, call customer support and ask them to send the technician because he can identify the malfunctioned components and replace them. However, you can call any other technician if they are more economical for you
2) Err On The Display
De’Longhi slow cooker is integrated with the electronic control display to help control the cooking functions. Err will appear on the electronic control display when there is some malfunctioning. To fix this, the simple solution is to switch off your slow cooker and wait for ten minutes. This will help reboot the slow cooker, so just connect the slow cooker to the power source. If the reboot doesn’t fix the Err displaying on the electronic control display, call, the customer support service.
3) Chewy & Dry Meat
For the most part, the De’Longhi slow cookers are utilized for cooking tender meat or softening the meat. So, if you are cooking meat in De’Longhi slow cooker but it is coming out chewy and dry, you are using the wrong cut.
We are saying this because the leaner cut is highly likely to get drier. For this reason, we suggest that you use De’Longhi slow cooker to cook pork chops and pork sirloin. Moreover, let the fat layer on the meat as it helps retain the moisture.
If the fat meat cuts are also coming out chewy and dry, you might have chosen a longer cooking cycle. For one pound meat, start with one hour cooking cycle (in case of high temperature). Even if you have to cook the tender cuts, choose the half-an-hour cooking cycle to ensure it stays soft and juicy.
4) There Is Too Much Water
Unless you are making stew or soup, you won’t want extra liquid in the food. You must keep in mind that slow cookers need lesser water quantity to cook food. This is because the closed lid will build up moisture and the food will be cooked through steam.
However, if you add too much water, it can result in too much water in your recipe. In simpler words, if you are following the pressure cooker recipe in a slow cooker, cut down the water quantity by 50%.
5) Lid Is Not Fixed
The lid of the De’Longhi slow cooker must be fixed into your slow cooker to ensure proper moisture development and even cooking. That being said, check the rubber band on the lid and ensure that it’s properly installed. Also, the rubber band around the lid must be intact!
