I love steak, but to be fair, who doesn’t? Nothing really beats a nice, juicy steak that’s cooked just right. It’s one of the best meals, and a favorite of mine, whether I’m having a home cooked one or something from a restaurant. Personally though, I prefer making my own at home. Sure, it’s a bit tedious, but it’s easy to east the perfect steak when you make it for yourself.

Plus, I have a few “secret ingredients” of my own that just take the taste of my steaks to a whole other level. But starting today, it isn’t going to be much of a secret anymore, because I’m going to share with you what these secret ingredients really are. You can make your steaks tastier than ever if you just try these babies out!

3 Best Delicious “Secret Ingredient” Seasonings for Your Steak

I have exactly three different options that I like to rotate around, because they’re all just so darn good in their own way. So, I’m going to share all three with all of you, since they’re pretty straightforward. That way, you can try them all and just see which one of my seasonings is the one for you! Let’s start things off with…

  1. Montreal Steak Seasoning

Up first is Montreal steak seasoning, a mixture of some herbs and spices that people use regularly to season beef. But, what you might not know is that it goes pretty great on chicken steaks too, since it complements the meat and vegetables oh so good.

I like this little “secret ingredient” of mine because it has a spicy kick to it, with a bolder taste. That’s how I tend to like my steaks, so it’s no secret that I’m a big fan of this one. It has nice lil bit of paprika and red pepper flakes to give it that tangy, spicy boost which makes it so yummy.

It’s pretty delicious, and most of all it’s easy to make if you have the right ingredients for it. Here’s what you need if you want to use this seasoning to make your steaks go from a 10 to an 11 real fast.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of paprika powder
  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon of dried thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon of dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli flakes

Get all the ingredients from the list above together into a small bowl and mix them up well (Yup, that’s pretty much it. There’s nothing more you have to do. Just get everything together in one bowl and mix it as well as you can using a spoon or anything else of your choice. Once all the ingredients are blended to your liking, your Montreal Steak Seasoning should be ready!).

  1. Outback Steak Seasoning

Next up is a steak seasoning I love because it has the perfect Aussie kick to it. This “secret ingredient” is none other than Outback Steak Seasoning, something so very delicious, but hard to replicate at home. If you’ve ever been to a restaurant, you’ll notice how outback steaks are one of the most popular items on the menu most of the times. Well, if you’re a fan of those kinds of steaks, you’ll love this option right here.

Compared to the spicier taste of the last option I gave you, this one is a lot more savory. It’s got a strong, taste to it, and a nice little twist thanks to cayenne peppers. These are the ingredients you’re going to need on hand if you want to make this delicious seasoning for yourself.

Ingredients:

  • ½ tablespoon of onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons of paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper

Instructions:

Same as the last one, all you need to do is to add all these ingredients into one little bowl and blend them up together as well as you can. That’ll be all and it’s ready!

  1. Basic Steak Seasoning

Lastly, here’s something simpler for those that want to keep things plain but delicious. This is something I experimented with when I didn’t feel like having anything too varied in flavor. It’s straight to the point, and really gives your steaks a nice little taste to them. There isn’t much more I can do to define this one, so here are the few ingredients you need for this one straight away!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic

Instructions:

The instructions for this one are a tiny bit different compared to the other two, because it has garlic in it, unlike the other two that just have powders and leaves. For this one, you’ll need a bigger bowl, and something to really help you mix the salt, black pepper, and dried parsley with the garlic. Once you have that, blend all these things together and the seasoning is going to be ready for use!

The Bottom Line

These were three of my favorite seasonings for homemade chicken steaks. They’re all oh so great in their own way, and now that I’ve defined them you can choose which one suits your needs the most.

After they’re ready, just use them as much or as little as you want on your steak and they’ll add to the flavor wonderfully. Hopefully you’re gonna like these seasonings as much as I do!
