Did you see how out-of-whack the microwave clock is? That’s common, either it gets knocked out during a power fluctuation, or maybe you just didn’t set time during install. Reheating some food and seeing 12:00 on screen instead of the correct hour are quite irritating. If the timer doesn’t work right, then you have no idea whether you’re waiting a second or an hour while something cooks. Fix this little annoyence.
On the right-hand side of unit will be the control panel. You should see buttons for quick defrost and auto cook. However, a single button is used to access the system settings. That button reads Select Clock. Using that button set the internal clock.
Step-by-Step Clock Setup Guide
Blue digits appears in digital display with either timer status or current time. Before beginning, ensure the microwave isn’t currently running an active cooking program to avoid any errors.
Once you find the right button, though, it’s as simple as that. Click the Clock button. That means the hour numbers on display will start blinking. They’re waiting for you to input something.
By default, it’ll say 12:00. But that’s probably not your time zone. Change it to current time of day. You only has to do this one step at a time. The first click just unlocks the hour-setting mode, nothing changes here yet. Easy-peasy.
For the hour, use up and down arrow buttons near the number pad. It’s confusing because these arrows are meant to set cook time, but in this instance, it’s used to set the clock. Simply tap the up arrow button a few times until right hour appears on the screen. Be patient and don’t overshoot the hour.
Once the hour has been set correctly, the blinking will stop scrolling to next segment of the time. Now it’ll wait for you to confirm that you’re good with current setting. After you’ve set the hour by pressing the Clock button a second time, it switch to the minutes. Now you see the blinking digits for minutes appearing on blue display screen.
The minutes may have defaulted to zero or been off by some number. Scroll up or down until you get right minutes. Again, use your arrows to dial in that part of the time. Do not guess what was there before.
Now you go back and push the up arrow again. Every time you do this, the minutes will goes up by one. It’s simple; no sub-settings and no weird menus. Just keep pushing it up until you see something close to what shows on your watch or phone.
When you get there, stop. Don’t fiddle with it anymore. The blinking numbers is the signal that system is in edit mode and ready for input.
The third and final press of the Clock button save your changes. It locks in current settings for hours and minutes in the microwave’s memory. The clock will stop blinking and hold steady with new time.
Voila! Your microwave is once again displaying the correct local time. Sure, it sounds easy enough, but there is actualy three separate presses of same button required to get it right. You’ll be able to understand your cooking timers again.
