If your Ninja Foodi Dual Zone air fryer won’t turn on, it is possible to fix instead of purchasing a new one; first check what might be wrong. If it has no lights and no sound at all, then it’s a complete loss of power.
In order to diagnose the problem, you need to open the case up and look inside at the parts. To do this, you unclips the white zip tie holding the cable between the two halves together and pull out the bottom case.
Testing the Power Cord
You now have a good view of all the components.
The next thing to look at is your main printed circuit board. If it’s burnt up (scorched marks), that means it’s dead.
Also make sure all of the connections between wires are solid as intermittent power problems can stem from loose wires. In this instance I saw nothing burnt on the board and everything looked good.
The board appeared clean in this case, and there were no burns.
And so we knew it wasn’t on the main board.
Then you’ll check the display connector. The screen connects to the main board via a ribbon cable. Over time that connection can get loose. When it does, the display won’t come on.
Firmly re-attach the connector so that there is good contact. It’s a no-cost test and may well be all there is to it.
That left the other two zones. But neither of those kicked on either.
So something else was wrong….
Zone 1 will not power on, nor will Zone 2. Fuses are used internally to protect each cooking zone. You can find those internal fuses located in the chassis.
Using your trusty multimeter, you test for continuity. An open fuse shows no resistance. Test each fuse carefully; it could be either or both of these fuse.
In addition to checking the internal fuses, never overlook the fuse that is located in some moddern models within the power plug.
Next, you remove the 13A automotive fuse in the plug and place the multimeter into continuity mode. If there’s no resistance (and no beep), it says ‘OL’ on the screen which means that fuse is dead.
The absence of the sound told you that it was a bad fuse, which would account for the complete loss of power. Replace the fuse in the plug and the unit fire up again.
Turns out it wasn’t a lost cable or an expensive board either. It was a blown fuse in the cord.
Always check the fuses. It’s the easiest solution and you’ll save money doing so.
Within an hour I had it fixed and learned that you always check the easy stuff first. That will save you both cash and time. Check the fuses first, and if they don’t work, then move on to the board. You should of checked them sooner. It was actually a simple fix based off the manual. I was livig in fear of buying new furnitures but it was fine.
