lg oven problems

It doesn’t matter if you want the washing machines, TVs, or ovens, LG is the trusted brand name and they have an extensive range of oven models. Ranging from microwave ovens to oven ranges, there are various configurations available. Still, there are some LG oven problems that are common with every oven model. To help you out, we are sharing the problems with solutions for you!

LG Oven Problems

1) No Heating

Whenever the oven stops heating, it’s safe to say that the cooking plans will go bad. As far as the solutions are concerned, there are three factors (or components) to consider. First of all, you need to check the igniter and see if it’s working. The igniter tends to get red and lights up for thirty to sixty seconds (the light will reflect in the oven).

If the igniter is not working, the LG oven will stop heating. So, you’ve to switch on the oven and observe the igniter. In case the igniter lights up for more than ninety seconds but the gas flame doesn’t ignite, you have to change/replace the igniter. Secondly, you have to check the bake element because it’s also responsible for heating the oven.

Keep in mind that the bake element will glow if it’s working properly. On the other hand, if you cannot see the bake element glowing, look for the blisters and holes and see if the bake element is burned out or not. if there are no visible damage signs, you can also use the multimeter (it helps check the continuity). In either case, you must replace the bake element.

Lastly, there can be heating issues if the spark electrode is worn out or broken. The spark electrode is responsible for igniting the gas on the burner. When there is no spark, the gas won’t ignite. That being said, you have to check out the spark electrode and look for cracks and other damages. In that case, the spark electrode must be replaced (please don’t rely on repairing).

2) Inaccurate Oven Temperature

The inaccurate oven temperature will result in uneven baking and unevenly cooked food. There are three primary reasons for temperature issues. Firstly, when the bake element is not working, it is likely to result in temperature accuracy issues. You can easily inspect the bake element by looking for blisters and holes on the body of the bake element. In that case, hire the technician to replace the bake element.

Secondly, you’ve to check the igniter. The igniter is responsible for drawing electrical current through the gas safety valve. The igniters are likely to weaken over the course of time and the valve will take a long time to open up. As a result, the temperature will be too low which causes temperature inaccuracy. So, if you haven’t changed the gas safety valve in a long time, you must replace it.

Lastly, the temperature accuracy issues can be the result of the damaged temperature sensor. The temperature sensor works in integration with the control board for regulating the temperature. So, if the LG oven is unable to maintain the temperature with accuracy, you have to get it recalibrated. You can also recalibrate the temperature sensor by consulting with the oven’s instruction manual.

3) The Burner Isn’t Lighting Up

If you are using the cooking range oven and the stove burners aren’t lighting up, there are chances of issues with spark electrodes, spark modules, and spark wires. To begin with, you can easily check the spark electrode for damage because if it’s worn out, you will have an issue igniting the gas. In fact, if the spark electrode is damaged, it will make a clicking sound, so replace the spark electrode.

As far as the spark wire is concerned, you need to ensure that the wire is properly connected and isn’t loose. This is because disconnected or loose wires will cause issues in gas ignition. So, just connect the spar wire tightly and in place. On the contrary, if the spark wire is damaged or burned out, replacing the cable is your only option.

Lastly, if you’ve already checked the spark wire and spark electrode but the burner still won’t light up, you’ve to check the spark module and see if it’s defected or damaged. In case of damages or defects to the spark module, you have to replace the spark module and your burners will light up!
