If you’re thinking it’s a software issue, no worries: resetting is simple. Simply hold down the ‘my’ and ‘x2’ buttons simultaniously. After a few seconds, the control panel lights begins to flicker. At that point, press the power button to confirm your reset. This worked in this instance.
Yet there was still no steam.
Milk builds up in tubes and wands and clogs easy. This lead to common issues with steam wand blockages.
Troubleshooting Internal Blockages And Valves
Clogged steam wands or tube are common problems because milk residue builds up inside quicky.
Make sure the interior tubing isn’t obstructed. Look carefuly at it.
This step went longer than anticipated because the tubing was clear enough, but there’s a small blockage that stop all steam flow.
Check the Steam Function Switch… Turning that knob completely didn’t do anything at all, you should check this as well because it could be a broken switch or your solenoid valve might be broken and need replacing.
The solenoid valve control the generation of the steam and will need replacing if it’s faulty.
You might get similar symptoms from other water inlet problems. If the water inlet is clogged than steam won’t reach the wand properly.
The other place you could check is based off how your water is getting into the machine. That one’s a little sneaky but has an impact on how well steam is produced.
Then, of course, you have heater which actualy produces the steam. If that go out, the whole thing either doesn’t work at all or doesn’t produce much steam. In this case, that’s part P800 in the unit. It was okay for the moment. Replacing that would of be more difficult as well.
