Fries are absolutely delicious. They’re one of my favorite things to snack on, even if I have plenty of other options to choose from. They’re my favorite side dish when I’m at a fast food restaurant, when there’s a BBQ going on at home, or a lot of other things that I like to eat. More than that, they’re great on their own too, especially if you make them just right.

They hit just the right spot when they’re crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a nice golden color to them. But, the only thing I like to snack on even more than good fries are good pizza fries. In fact, depending on how you make them, they can be a nice little meal of their own.

Speaking of how you make them, today I want to walk you through my recipe for homemade pizza fries.

Make Delicious Homemade Pizza Fries At Home

Good pizza fries need good ingredients. That way you can make them perfect. So, to get started, you’re going to need the following things:

  • 2 Chicken Filets, boneless
  • 1 teaspoon of Garlic Paste
  • 1 tablespoon of Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon of Tikka Masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Salt
  • 34 Potatoes
  • 712 tablespoons of Cooking Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Cheese
  • Black Olives, as per preference
  • Jalapeños, as per preference
  • Chili Flakes
  • Oregano

Once you have the ingredients on standby, we can start cooking. So, ready everything up and…

  1. Cut the Chicken: Get a chopping board and the 2 boneless chicken fillets. Make sure that chopping board is completely clean before placing the chicken on it, and then start slicing it all up into much smaller pieces. Small-sized cubes should be good for a meal like pizza fries.

  2. Season the Chicken: Now that the chicken is all cut and ready, you can toss it into a medium-sized bowl and begin seasoning it. For that, you’ll need to cover the chicken up with 1 teaspoon of garlic paste and lemon juice each. Plus, you’ll also need 1 tablespoon of chicken tikka masala, followed by ¼ teaspoons of salt. Once everything is on top, start mixing it all up. That way, it’s well-divided across the chicken and completely covers it. Once covered with the flavoring, you can leave the chicken aside to marinate for a bit.

  3. Chop Up Potatoes: While the chicken marinates, you can cut up potatoes so that the chicken is ready by the time you’re done with those. 3-4 potatoes are enough for this recipe. Peel the skin off these few potatoes and cut them up into individual strips for fries. Set these aside for now.

  4. Cook the Chicken: Leaving the potatoes alone for a bit, bring your attention back to the chicken to cook it up. Get a saucepan and pour 3 tablespoons of cooking oil over it to heat up. Once hot, add the marinated chicken pieces and cook them on high heat for however long it takes for them to change color. Remember to stir regularly during this, ‘cause you don’t want your chicken cooking unevenly. Once again, set the chicken aside after doing all this.

Prepare the Fries: Pour 5-10 tablespoons of cooking oil inside of a deep fry pan and let it heat up (A little bit of advice is to watch out for the oil, since it can grow in size after heating up and overflow. Make sure that your pan is deep enough for this step). Once it’s really hot, add the potatoes you cut up earlier inside. Fry these inside the pan until they start to change into a delicious-looking golden color and then take them out if they feel like they’re ready.

  6. Pre-Heat Oven: After your fries all ready, preheat your oven at 180 degrees Celsius for at least 15 minutes. You can kill this time by occupying yourself with the next step until then!

  7. Ready Your Dish: Get a deep, heat-proof dish and spread the fries all across its bottom. Add your cooked chicken on top of the fries and make sure that it is evenly distributed. Now layer the fries and chicken with ½ cup of cheese and other toppings. These include black olives and jalapenos. Also add chilli flakes and oregano. You can add as many of these toppings as you want, depending on which ones you prefer and how dense/spicy you want the loaded fries to turn out at the end.

  8. Bake and Serve: By the time you’re done preparing the dish, the oven should be pre-heated, So, put it inside and let everything bake for 15 minutes! After that, your loaded fries will be ready. I hope you enjoy them a lot and that they become a favorite snack of yours, just like they’re mine!

  • Pizza fries come in all kinds of variety, so you can make changes to this recipe if you want to depending on your preferences. If you want other spices, you can add those if you think they’ll be good. Any extra toppings or flavorings are welcome too!
