No, there is no reset button in the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew coffee maker. There’s no mention of resetting it in its manual. The only way to clear the machine’s memory are to call support.
There is also a piece of hardware that will do it. Most appliances has a reset sequence, but this one does not.
How to perform a hard reset
On this appliance, you use a power cycle to get around the software. That’s something that works on nearly any electronic device. Simply unplug it to stop all of the circuits.
It is so easy and so effective.
To reset it, you have to yank out the plug from the back of the appliance. Pull that plug from the wall, and the juice stops flowing instantly. The screen shuts down, the buttons on the control panel stop responding.
Unplug the thing. Plug it back in again. Nothing happens. You must completely disconnect it for an actual reset.
Unplug your coffee maker and wait. Don’t plug it back in yet! Give it a few minutes; you must do this. That gives the capacitor inside the machine a chance to completely discharge. Electricity is stored up inside and takes time to go away.
Plug it back in too quickly and it won’t reset. Let it sit anywhere from five to ten minutes. This is just enough time for this to do its thing. Then plug it back in.
And then the machine is alive again. The control panel lights up again. A default number appear on the screen.
Whatever it was doing before is gone from its memory. It’s as if it never happened. All the error code are erased. Weirder settings don’t persist.
This clears the clock. You will need to set the clock back. However, it will go right back into default mode, so you will have to set your own starting time.
To do this, hit the clock button on the control panel. Use the blue LCD screen to toggle the minute and hour settings.
There are no changes other than the time setting. The cup size defaults don’t change. Neither do the brew strength setting.
Only the memory is wiped.
This is how you fix stubborn glitches.
When your machine acts up, give this one a shot. Don’t search for a hidden button. Pull the plug, wait, plug it back in again. No tech knowledge required.
The solution works completely. All you need is a power outlet and some patience. This will work every single time. It always clears out the system.
Don’t make it complicated. What do I mean? The solution is usually staring you in the face. Just unplug the thing, wait, and presto!
And the manual doesn’t cover this… But this does. Fast. Free. Coffee Maker = fixed. You should of reset the clock…but come on. It’s so easy.
