The FlexBrew machine also has the Delay Brew feature for waking up to pre-brewed coffee. Simply select your desired wakeup time and the machine will kick into action then. It requires a little learning of the button sequence, but after that it do its thing.
First thing’s first: make sure your clock is set properly. The coffee will brew on the incorrect schedule if you haven’t done so. To check, look at the display and confirm that it shows the proper time. Proper clock setting are required to start scheduling. Otherwise, all else is for nothing.
Setting the Delay Brew Timer
Once the clock is synchronized, you can program the brew time.
After you’ve got your clock set, it’s time to set the brew time. The user interface call for a mix of button presses. While pressing down on the Set Time button, also press and hold the Delay Brew button.
You press and hold the Delay Brew button, and you press the Set Time button at the same time.
That’s the action that brings up the hour setting.
With the buttons depressed, the screen goes active. To set the hour, push the Set Time button. It’ll count up or down based on the current setting. Push again. Again. And so on.
Give it a second or two and the system will recognize your input. As you watch, the display will update with the new time.
It may feel sluggish at first, but it works.
The thing might be slow to start. But it’s workin’.
Set your hour. Then set your minutes. For example, let’s say you want your coffee to begin brewing at 8:30am sharp.
Pull the buttons out of the control panel and then dial exactly how many minutes away that is (in this case, 30). This part is important… Don’t hold down the buttons for more than a few seconds or it might not work right.
Wait it out. Release your grip and let it find its balance.
To lock in the schedule, simply hit the Delay Brew button again. Hitting this button once more confirm all of your entered settings. The indicator light beside it turns solid green. This lets you know the program is activated and ready to run.
This confirms that the settings is indeed saved, as a green indicator light lights up solidly.
But there’s a catch here: The delay programming is only for the carafe side of things. You can’t do it with the single-serve pod brewing.
For the love of coffee, if you want a programmed cup then you’ll need to use glass carafe. The single-serve side will continue to be manual-only. It would of been easier with more buttons. Actualy, it feels a bit moddern for such simple task. The machine can absorbs more settings, but it dont. You should of checked the manual for more help with this. It feels different than I thought. The button sequence is naturaly a bit tricky, and it feels like you need to recieve a training to use it. It should of been simpler.
