Frigidaire Gallery Microwave Tripping Breaker

1. Check the Door Switch

There are door switches on microwaves to ensure that it is running safely. If the door switch is not properly locked up, that could be causing you to have the problem with your circuit breaker getting tripped.

The best way to get that sorted out is to check on the door switches. There could be three door switches, primary, secondary, and monitor. So, you will have to check on all three of them to ensure that they are properly sticking. If the door is unlocked, you will need to lock it up and that should do the trick for you.

2. Using The Wrong Circuit Breaker

Another reason for you to be having the issue with your Frigidaire Gallery microwave tripping the circuit breaker has to do with the ampere rating of your fuse and the circuit breaker. The fuse is designed to blow first, and that saves you from any sort of power surges.

However, at times you might be using a 15 Amp circuit breaker while the fuse is 20 Amp. That could be causing your breaker to be tripped before the fuse. If that is the issue, you will need to consult the owner manual of your Frigidaire Gallery microwave and use the right circuit breaker with proper amperes on it. That would help you out with getting things sorted up properly.

It can also be caused if the microwave is overloading the electric circuit and the breaker is designed to be tripped earlier than that. So, choosing the right circuit breaker should sort out the problem for you.

3. Short Circuit

Lastly, there can be a short circuit as well that could cause your breaker to be tripped more often. These short circuits are pesky, and often not that easy for you to be diagnosing them on your own. It would make perfect sense to get help from an authorized technician who will be able to figure out if there is some sort of short circuit and he can fix it as well.

If there is a short circuit somewhere on the wiring of your microwave, or any other components on your circuit, it needs to be dealt with and repaired. Once you figure out the reason for the short circuit, you can have it fixed up and that should be solving the problem for you as well with your breaker getting tripped.
