How to Troubleshoot Food Dehydrator Timer Not Working?
1. Power
To begin with, the timer might not be working because the dehydrator isn’t connected to the power supply at all (don’t worry, it’s a common mistake). That being said, switch on the food dehydrator and make sure it’s properly connected to the electrical outlet. Not to forget, you have to check the outlet and ensure that it’s operating properly. If you have mistakenly plugged a food dehydrator into the wrong outlet, choose a new outlet and make sure the new one is working. Last but not least, we suggest that you use the undamaged and grounded outlet.
2. Voltage
Voltage plays a crucial role in the operations of the food dehydrator. This is because the food dehydrator needs a specific voltage to work properly. We suggest that you check the manual and see which voltage is needed to operate the food dehydrator. That being said, if you are not getting the right voltage at home, the food dehydrator won’t work properly, and the timer will fail to operate. So, if the voltage is the issue, you should get it fixed.
3. Shelf Placement
There are different parts and compartments in the food dehydrator, and they need to be properly placed to ensure the timer is working. To begin with, we suggest that you switch off the food dehydrator and place the shelves in place. When the shelves are in place, try to use the food dehydrator again and see if the unit is working properly.
4. Door
Whenever you are using the food dehydrator, keep in mind that the door is properly closed to start the timer. That being said, if the door is not properly closed, the timer won’t start or work. To begin with, you should try to push in the door and see if properly closed. Secondly, you should look if some food particles or chunks are stuck between the door and unit. If there is something, just remove them, push the door in, and switch on the food dehydrator again. When the door is properly closed, the timer will startup.
5. Knob
In the majority of cases, the food dehydrators are designed with knobs for setting or adjusting the time duration. However, if the knob is stuck or it’s not working, the timer won’t be set, and it won’t operate. That being said, check out the knob and see if it is rotating properly. If not, you have to change and replace the knob to get the timer back on track.
