First of all, don’t force the lid into the pot. For the most part, you should slide back the lid and lift it up. Then, align the lid with the marks according to the manual of the pressure cooker’s manual. However, if it doesn’t open the lid, you must call customer support.

2) Water Leaking From Handle

To begin with, this is about water leaking from the lower handle when the pressure cooker is trying to build the pressure. Keep in mind that a slight amount of water might drip from the pressure cooker’s handle while it’s building pressure. This is because water comes through condensed steam and it will eventually stop once the pressure is built.

On the contrary, if the water keeps leaking even after pressure has been built, there are chances of the dry gasket and loosened screws and nuts. For fixing this issue, you must clean the gasket and make sure it’s oiled regularly. Secondly, the lower handle must be tightened. If there are visible screws, you must tighten them with the screwdriver.

3) Unable To Build Pressure

What’s the point of having the pressure cooker if it doesn’t build pressure? So, when the pressure cooker is unable to build pressure, there are the following reasons behind it, such as;

Liquid

First of all, the Elite Platinum pressure cooker must have ample liquid for pressure to build. So, ensure that you use ample water. If the water isn’t sufficient, you need to cool down the pressure cooker and add liquid. Generally, the water content shouldn’t be less than half a cup.

Seal

When the seal is not placed properly, the pressure buildup issues will be there. For this purpose, you must ensure that the seal is tight enough and the lid is properly closed.

Valve

When the valve is hindered or dirty, the pressure cooker will have a hard time building the pressure. To be honest, a valve is prone to getting dirty since food particles can clog up the valve. For instance, if you cook dried beans, the foam can clog the valve. For the same reason, you must clean the valves at regular intervals.

Secondly, you must check the operating valves as well. This is because when the operating valve is placed incorrectly, there will be pressure buildup issues. With this being said, you must place the operating valve at the pressure setting. People usually pace the operating valve in the steam release position without even realizing it, so please ensure the correct position of the operating valve.

Gasket

If your pressure cooker is still not building pressure, there are high chances that the gasket is worn down, dirty, or has incorrect placement. For this purpose, you must keep the silicone gasket placed properly. In addition, the gasket must be cleaned properly. Lastly, if you use the pressure cooker regularly, you must start replacing the gasket at least after every six months.

4) Trapped Steam

The Elite Platinum pressure cooker users often struggle with a trapped steam issue with the vent pipe. So, if you open the pressure release mechanism, and the steam doesn’t escape through the vent pipe, there is a blocking issue. In addition, if you are using frozen food, don’t worry because it’s going to take its sweet time. Secondly, if the liquid is too thick, the cooking time will be longer.
