One 12-fl-oz tin of Diet Coke stores 46 mg of caffeine, that is around 3.83 mg each liquid ounce. I was surprised when I learned that it has around 35 % more than the regular Coke with 34 mg. The 20-ounce bottle reaches 76 mg, while a full 2-liter bottle has around 257 mg, what makes 64 % of the 400 mg daily limit that the FDA suggests for adults.
Those little 7.5-ounce tins? Only around 29 mg. Almost not noticeable.
How much caffeine is in Diet Coke?
For pregnant women the ACOG limit stands at 200 mg, so around most 4 tins. Children between 4 and 11 years should stay under 85 mg, not even two full tins. One spot that I always remmeber is that drinks from fountain range, because ice takes 15 to 25 % of the cup volume, so a 32-ounce big cup only stores 24 to 27 actual ounces of liquid, what gives around 92 to 103 mg of caffeine.

Diet Coke is a sugar-free and low-energy fizzy drink that the Coca-Cola Corporation makes. In some countries it is called Coca-Cola Light or Diet Coca-Cola. Instead of sugar it uses fake sweetener, mainly aspartame, to reach that sweet taste.
It is based on a different recipe than the standard Coca-Cola, so it has its own special taste.
The taste of Diet Coke is fresher then that of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. The sugar-free version tries to copy the original Coca-Cola taste, but Diet Coke offers a crisp, refreshing taste that stands alone. It has less than one calorie each serving, so it works for those that watch their energy intake.
In a bottle of Diet Coke you find carbonated water, caramel color, aspartame, phosphoric acid, potassium benzoate, natural flavors, citric acid and caffeine. A 12-liquid-ounce serving carries around 0.4 grams of carbs, 0.4 grams of proteins, no fat and around 4 calories. Legally, drinks with under 5 calories each serving can be shown as zero on the label.
Diet Coke first appeared as an experimental sugar-free version of Coke. Then modern sweeteners were lacking, so the makers could not copy the classic Coca-Cola taste. So they launched a sugar-free drink with its own taste.
It was meant to let people enjoy fizzy liquid without the high calories of sugar. The fake sweeteners are much sweeter than sugar, but with only a small part of calories.
Not every Diet Coke has the same taste. Versions from fountain, can, plastic bottle and glass bottle differ a bit in taste and feel. Some even add a slice of lemon.
Can, bottle and fountain drinks do differ between themselves.
Through the years Diet Coke got several versions. In 1986 they introduced Diet Cherry Coke as a sister of the cherry Coca-Cola. Later came flavors like Diet Coke with Lemon, Diet Coke Vanilla and Diet Coke Raspberry.
The cherry Diet Coke also came back widely as part of the cherry campaign.
Diet Coke helps during weight loss. It fills sweet cravings and turns thoughts from foods. It is available at Mcdonald’s in extra small, medium and big fountain sizes.
Also in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans, 16-ounce bottles and 20-ounce bottles. Some cooking recipes need cola drink, but many warn to not use the diet version for cookingin a slow cooker.
An adult weighing around 70 pounds should not drink more than nine to fourteen tins of aspartame drink a day, to not pass the suggested limit for aspartame. The bitterness of Diet Coke itself does not rank among the main tooth-damaging things.
