Before performing any maintenance on your De’Longhi Magnifica, make sure you’ve switched the machine to ‘off’. Do not attempt to remove the infuser while the machine is still live as you might damage the unit.

You pull the infuser out of the housing itself. The infuser is a small black plastic cylinder that has a red knob for adjusting the hot water/steam from the spray nozzle. You want to be careful with this thing since it’s what delivers the hot water/steam. There was no resistance or any real tricky removal.
Things go wrong during cleaning time. Bring it to the kitchen sink. You run some water through it, right? No soap! Soaps may harm the plastic, as well as stay on the plastic. Rinse again and again until any free-floating grounds is gone. Water flows into every nook and cranny.

Then you give them five minutes. Five minutes is all it takes to get the gunk off. So you put that timer on your phone and walk away and let the parts does their thing. You know, soak in some nice warm water to help soften any tough stuff.
While that’s soaking, you wipe down the sink area. Because if you don’t want to be doing this again in an hour you won’t rush it. So you wait it out.
After the time elapses, you’ll repeat the rinsing process, but this time all of those loose piece come off easily. The most important part is drying. You want the nozzle and infuser bone-dry. Any moisture remaining will result in funky flavors and even mold.
Air drying is your friend here based off how it works. No towels required. Just let time pass.
Reinstallation is the reverse of removal. Take off the black plastic cover. Unclip your infuser from its slot, check to make sure everything’s dry then slide it back in. It locks in firmly and you replace the black plastic cover. The machine appear ready for yet another cup of coffee, and now you’re all set.
