If you see standing water surrounding your DeLonghi La Specialista, turn it off right away and unplug it. Prioritize safety.
It could be a simple loose connection. Check all of the water tube connections first.
Inspect for Internal Damage
“Once I remove the water tank, then I can really examine it well. Look for cracks. Sometimes body is fine but the seal at the bottom has worn out.”
Look for openings. If they are clearly visible or seem easy to get into, that will help you narrow down the problem. And just in case… make sure the tank looks like it’s holding up okay and doesn’t have any gaping holes.
Don’t forget this one. If the seal has been beaten up in any way, get it replaced immediately as it will allow water to pour out of machine with little resistance. It is an easy fix that could of solved this.
Check for hidden leaks on the inside as well; pooled water could indicate an interior leak.
Anything damp is not good for life of the device. Examine each fitting and hose once more; are they all sound?
Slow drips indicate cracks. Loose fittings can spray everything around. Even if you checked before, a careful look will find small cracks that was missed before.
Get them all good and dry because machines are quick to go bad from water damage.
Carefully put it back together. Make sure to tighten all the connections well. You don’t want a repeat.
Darn, there’s water coming out of my machine….but that can be fixed! First check for loose connections. Then inspect your tanks and even open them up. Do this correctly and you’re running a clean machine once more.
