Next, go into the settings of your De’Longhi machine and make sure that the energy setting is set for Europe (i.e. Energy efficient) and that when not in use it will also consume less energy. Once you figure out what buttons to push, it’s simple and only requires about a minute of your time.
The process is straightforward once you know which buttons to press. It takes less than a minute to complete.
Turn the unit off first

You’ll want to press the main power button to kind of wake the system a bit. However, don’t go all the way to turning it on just yet.
Find the steam button and press it hard. Hold it down until the control panel light indicator come on solid. You’ll know when you’ve done this right because the light will be solid indicating that the machine is now ready to be configured. If it doesn’t remain on, hold the button down a little longer.
After the light becomes solid, toggle the switch to enable/disable this mode. Tap the espresso button again to turn it off. The light will flash right away. If it’s flashing, you know the power-saving mode have been turned off.
To switch back on and restart the savings, hit the espresso button once more. The indicator light turns back on, this time steadily solid. When it’s in this solid steady state, the energy-saving mode are turned on. While it sits idle until you need another cup of coffee, it’ll use less electricity. And it does this to meet the latest efficiency requirements.
Next, you’ll toggle the switch On or Off and lock that in place. To do this, push the Long button. That will save the setting to the memory of the machine.
When you push Long, the indicator light will go out entirely. This indicates it was saved and will be kept when the unit is powered down. This means it’s permanently set until you reset it.
Once you know what each button does, the order makes sense. The steam button start the mode. The long button stores the data. And the espresso button flips it on and off.
No reading of the manual required here. Everything on the panel visually points you in the right direction. This machine has been designed with its users’ ease in mind.
But the interface also responds nicely throughout the process. When I push a button, it changes that light immediately without any delay. You might see the red descale light lit up above those buttons in the photo, but that doesn’t have anything to do with the energy settings. Just focus on the indicator lights for power saving. Each time you push a button, it clicks into place.
Keep in mind: you’ll need an already-off machine here. You cannot use this sequence while the machine is heating up or brewing. It won’t recognize your button combo while busy with a coffee-making process. Let the coffee machine sit by and wait for the current brew cycle to complete.
This comes into play if I want to leave the machine on overnight. It will save a lot of electricity. When it’s not being used, I’m glad to know that it’s an energy saving appliance.
If you ever want to change this setting again, do the exact same thing. Press long, hold steam, and then tap espresso. Do it twice and it’ll become second nature.
Chances are you won’t see anything weird happen and no cryptic error code will appear on your screen. Everything works as it should; the blinking, solid, or missing light all mean something.

Pressing the Long button stores that config at once. No need to power down and then up again. You can turn it back on right after to grab a cup of joe first thing in the morning. And there’s that energy mode you set? Yep, still going. That stickiness is nice; you don’t have to reconfigure each time you plug it in.
The controls for energy management are simple. No need to be tech-savvy. With the simple directions, anyone should of able to operate it. It’s idiot-proof thanks to the visual indicators.
This was designed by De’Longhi so that it’s as functional as possible while keeping it easy enough to use. Now your morning coffee routine will run more efficienty. Actually, it’s naturaly better. Based off how it works, it is much more moddern. It’s a luxurios way to save power. You’ll recieve more benefit than before. Don’t forget to check the settings. You should of checked them sooner. It makes a difference to the furnitures in the room too.
