  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale

If you have cauliflower and cheese, you already have most of what you’re going to need. The rest is just a bunch of common stuff you should already have in the kitchen, such as:

  • 45 cups of water, as needed
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Black pepper, according to taste
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese
  • 1 cauliflower head

Instructions

Getting cauliflower and cheese sauce to mix together just right isn’t the easiest thing. This recipe has a bunch of steps, and can take a bit of time to get right so that the mixture feels natural. Heck, it took me a lot of time to perfect it myself. So, just do as I’ve detailed in the list below, and you’re sure to enjoy what comes out at the end!

  1. Cut and Boil Cauliflower: Get the cauliflower head and cut it up into small pieces so that it’s ready for cooking. Then, get 4-5 cups of water, depending on how much you need, and add it to a pot. In this pot, add the pieces of cauliflower you cut up and let them come to a boil along with the water. Once that’s done, you can drain the pot and let the vegetable sit aside while you focus on other things.

  2. Cook The Cauliflower: Get a medium-sized pan and pour 1 tablespoon of butter on top. Wait for this to melt before putting the boiled cauliflower from earlier on top. Fry the vegetable for about 2-3 minutes, while using a wooden spoon to stir it regularly so that all the sides are done equally. It’ll burn easy if you let it sit too long, so be careful during this step.

  3. Add Garlic Paste and Mix: Add 1 teaspoon of garlic paste to the cauliflower pieces that you’re cooking. Mix these two ingredients together well, and then cook it all for 4-5 minutes. Once that much time passes, you can set the cauliflower aside and move on to other steps.

  4. Cook Some Flour: Get a medium-sized pan again and add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil to heat up. Dump 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour on top of the oil and cook it until the flour starts to change color. Make sure that you stir continuously during all this because the flour will burn easily if you let it sit in one place for too long.

  5. Add Milk and Cook: After the flour changes color, get 1 cup of milk and dump it on top. Now cook this for another 2-3 minutes, while making sure that you stir continuously once again. The flour is gonna start forming clumps while you do this, so make sure that you even it out and stir gently but firmly so that the clumps are rare.

  6. Add Black Pepper and Cheese: If everything is going smoothly so far, the rest of the recipe should be nothing but a smooth cakewalk for you! All you need to do is add as muuuch black pepper as you need, depending on your taste and preferences. Mix this as well as you can with the rest of the ingredients that are cooking, and follow it up with ½ cup of grated cheese. Cook this mixture for around 1-2 minute(s), and stir continuously even now. (Stirring is such a big and frequent part of this recipe because the ingredients are sensitive and will burn without it).

  7. Add Cauliflower and Mix: Now all that’s left is to apply some finishing touches, with the main one being the cauliflower. Add it to the mixture and stir it together so it gets absorbed in all the cheesy, milky goodness you just prepared. Once you notice that everything is gelled together and ready to serve, you can dump everything into a deep tray and serve it for all to enjoy! Dig in with a fork or serve it on the side with something like pasta or other meals. Either way, it’ll be delicious and you’re sure to enjoy it if you like cheese and cauliflower!
