Best Aebleskiver Pan Substitutes
1. Circle Cutter & Sheet
Aebleskiver is basically a round treat and you can use the sheet and circle cutter to make this Danish snack. For this purpose, you can use a sheet pan and bake the Aebleskiver (use the same batter). Once it’s baked, use the cutter to cut the same diameter and size as the Danish snack. Keep in mind that cutting the Aebleskiver will not have the same crust or exterior surface but it’s something you’ve to bear if you don’t have the pan.
2. Silver Liners
We all have seen the silver papers for cupcakes (they are pretty thick and often look like metal sheets). For this reason, you can use the silver liners to make Aebleskiver because you simply have to take the silver liner, scoop the batter into it, and bake it in the oven. The liners are designed with heavy and thick paper, so they will be able to hold the batter and shape. Also, these silver liners are available in the baking aisle pretty easily.
3. Lids
To begin with, we are talking about mason jar lids and you might it already in your drawer. It is actually a great option for people who think paper liners won’t hold the batter properly. So, collect the mason jar lids (use the metal rings). Once you have the lid, use the paper liner within the ring and scoop the Aebleskiver batter, and place them on the sheet pan. Now, just put the sheet pan in the oven for baking and watch it bake into round Danish snacks.
4. Paper Liners
If you cannot find the silver liner, use the regular paper liner for making these snacks. However, you need to ensure that a paper liner is able to hold the batter’s weight. For this reason, you can double up or triple up the paper liners. As a result, the batter will hold the place and you would have a pretty round Danish snack. Also, when they are baked, just remove the paper liners!
5. Ramekins
If you are a fan of poached eggs, we are sure that you would have a ramekin available. So, it turns out that a ramekin can be used in place of an Aebleskiver pan. However, keep in mind that Aebleskiver won’t turn out round and you will have to eat it with a fork. But again, it will smell and taste the same, so what’s the harm? Before we move on, we do want to tell you that greasing and flouring the ramekins will ensure seamless baking, and always use the oven-safe ramekins.

Once the batter is baked, let them cool down, and take out the Aebleskiver by flipping the mugs upside down.
