Gravy Per Person & Gravy Portion Calculator

When you’re cooking for lots of people, it’s hard deciding just how much gravy you should prepare. Having too little can be a problem, but having too much seems like such a waste of food and effort. Use our gravy per person & gravy portion calculator so that you don’t have to worry about getting the right amount anymore!
How To Use The Gravy Per Person & Gravy Portion Calculator?
- Input How Many People You’re Cooking For

At the very top of the calculator, write the number of guests you plan to make gravy for. For example, if you want to calculate how much gravy to make for four people, just write “4” in this box.
- Fill Out The Gravy Requirement

Let’s continue with four people as an example. Think of how many dishes you plan to include on the table. Maybe you’re making mashed potatoes and grilled chicken.
Next, figure out how many of those dishes will need gravy on top (or on the side). In this case, only mashed potatoes will need gravy. This dish usually requires a standard amount of gravy, not too much but not too little, so in the box “Number of Dishes Requiring Standard Gravy” write “1”.
After that, choose the amount of gravy you intend to serve for each plate. A typical portion is 1/3 cup, so for this example we’re going to select that from the drop-down menu.
In the boxes for Light Gravy and Extra Gravy, just write “0” and select the suggested amounts. This will let you hit the Calculate button at the bottom.
- Press The Calculate Button

After filling out all the info about gravy, you just need to click the “CALCULATE GRAVY PORTION” button and you’ll get your answer immediately!
