The Thermador refrigerators have gained a top name in the market since they are integrated with advanced cooling and purification systems. One of the best things about their refrigerators is that they have a wine fridge for people who like to keep their alcoholic beverages chilled at all times. However, if the Thermador wine fridge not cooling issue is bugging you, we have a variety of solutions that can be helpful!
Thermador Wine Fridge Not Cooling
- Power
First of all, you need to check the power of the fridge because it fails to cool if there is not sufficient power. The fridge needs a consistent flow of electricity to turn on the compressor as well as the other components. So, we recommend that you open the fridge’s door and if the light doesn’t switch on, it’s likely that the fridge doesn’t have power.
The first step is to check the power cord and make sure it’s free from damage and is tightly connected to the power outlet. In addition to this, you need to avoid plugging the fridge in an extension cord as it doesn’t ensure safe voltage conduction. Last but not least, you must check the circuit breaker box of the home to ensure there are no tripped breakers – if the breakers are tripped, reposition them.
- Door Gaskets
The gasket is basically a rubber seal that’s installed across the perimeter of the door, which is responsible for the airtight closure of the fridge when you close the door. The gasket is designed to keep the cool air contained and prevents the inflow of warm air. So, when the gasket is damaged, the cold air will flow out and the external warm air will go into the fridge, resulting in cooling issues.
To determine if the gaskets are damaged, you need to open the door and inspect if the rubber seal is damaged or loose. If the gasket is damaged, you’ve no option but to replace it. The new seal can be purchased from the hardware store. In addition to this, you must get it installed by a professional to ensure correct installation.
- Temperature
If the gasket isn’t damaged but the wine fridge is still not cooling, it’s recommended that you adjust the temperature. The refrigerator temperature should be around 37 degrees Fahrenheit while the freezer must be set at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. For this purpose, we recommend that you check the temperature setting on the control panel to make sure it’s enough to cool the wines.
- Condenser Coils
The condenser coils are essential to cool the refrigerant and produce cool air for the fridge. So, when the coils are dirty or dusty, the refrigerant won’t be able to dissipate the heat properly, which leads to overworking of the compressor and an increase in the internal temperature. As a result, the cooling will be negatively impacted. For this reason, we recommend that you clean the condenser coils after every six to twelve months to streamline the cooling.
If these steps don’t work, you need to call Thermador’s technical support team to get the problem fixed by professionals!
