Samsung is a promising brand name for everyone who needs household appliances because their appliances are considerably smarter. For this reason, many people opt for their ovens but end up complaining about Samsung oven not heating. If you’ve invested in the same ovens and have the heating issue, we’ve got the solutions ready in this post!
Samsung Oven Not Heating
1) Igniter
When there is no heating, an igniter should be the first thing to check on your list. This is because the heating issues are mostly caused by a defective and damaged igniter. This component is responsible for drawing electrical current via a safety valve. Secondly, the igniter gets warmed up to glow and lit up the gas that’s available in the burner/oven. When the igniter doesn’t work properly, the safety valve won’t be opened up properly and the oven won’t heat up.
If you want to check the igniter, you have to inspect it while keeping the oven switched on. If an igniter glows for more than ninety (90) seconds and doesn’t light up the flame, it’s too weak to function properly. The simplest solution is to replace the said component but make sure you get the one according to the oven model. Some people also use a multimeter to be sure, so you can try that as well!
2) Bake Element
A properly working bake element is likely to have a glowing red color due to heat. However, if you can observe element and it’s not turning red hot, the element is simply not working. In the majority of cases, this component burns out and you can even see visible damages. We suggest that you look for blisters/holes to determine if the element has burned out. So, if you see some visual damages to the element, you must get it replaced. If you want to be sure before replacing it, just check the continuity (you can use multimeter for it).
3) Spark Electrode
Samsung ovens are integrated with the broil or bake spark electrode. This electrode is designed to light the gas and is located right beside the burner. For the most part, it works like a spark plug, and power strikes through these components to ignite the gas. On the other hand, when the spark electrode stops working or wears out, it won’t be able to spark and gas won’t be ignited. You can inspect the electrode damages, such as cracks. If you see some damages, call the oven technicians to fix the spark electrode (they will suggest a replacement, so go with it!).
4) Broil Element
The broil element has a red color when it’s glowing and igniting properly. For this purpose, you must inspect it and if it’s not glowing red, the broil element isn’t heating at all. The broil element can burn out after a few months, especially if you use the oven too much. To check for the damages, look for visual blisters as well as continuity because both these factors will confirm the non-functionality of the boil element.
5) Thermal Fuse
When the Samsung oven gets too hot, the fuse is likely to trip and it will eventually shut down the oven. In some cases, the thermal fuse even blows out and it will restrict the heating. Truth be told, it’s not common but you have to check all your options when the oven doesn’t heat up. At this point, replacing the oven will solve the majority of issues and even the heating will be restored.
6) Wire Connection
The ovens are designed to supply power to igniter and elements through wires. When these wires burn out, the power supply will be restricted and the oven won’t heat up. In case of wire burns, you will be able to identify it visually. So, if the wire connections appear burned out, they need to be replaced and reconnected with the said components.
Additional Factors To Consider
To ensure proper cooking and sufficient heating in the Samsung oven, there are some steps that you can try, such as;
- Always ensure the correct position of the rack because improperly placed rack will hinder heat distribution in the unit
- You must preheat the oven to ensure your food turns out evenly cooked and develops enough heat within the unit
- Don’t open the oven’s door again and again because it will let the heat escape out
