Instead of having to fill one’s food with all kinds of vegetables, herbs, spices, and whatnot, seasonings are a great thing that allow users to quickly sprinkle the taste of these things on top of a meal. Food and seasonings have a long history together, and there are all kinds of different combinations of seasonings which are tried out with certain foods.
Many brands offer so many different flavours and seasonings, and a lot of these are more popular than others. Speaking of the popular options, two in particular that come to mind are Mrs Dash and Flavour God.
When choosing to get seasonings for your food, you’ll obviously want to get the best possible one so that it’s perfect. There are many who’ll tell others to just choose either one as they can’t possibly be too different.
This isn’t true at all though, since there are lots of distinctions between them, which are easily noticeable with a little bit of testing and research. We’re here to point out the most important differences of all right here in our comparison between the two provided below.
Mrs Dash Vs Flavour God
Ingredients and Taste
The first difference which we’ll be comparing between both of these different products are the ingredients used for them.
Keep in mind that most flavours vary depending on the exact flavour of the seasoning, but the main ones for Mrs Dash are onions, garlics, carrots, and other vegetables of the sort, while there are also spices black pepper, parsley, and more.
The noticeably different ingredients are mustard, oil of lemon, orange peel, and a few more. A full list can be found on the packaging, or on official Mrs Dash pages.
As for Flavour God, the ingredients on their seasonings are surprisingly basic regardless of the flavour in question. There are some organic spices and herbs, while the previously mentioned vegetables used for Mrs Dash are usually used in Flavour God flavours too, with the inclusion or exclusion of some others depending on the specific flavour.
The noticeable difference here is the chilli powder which just about every flavour of the brand’s seasonings has a lot of. This adds a spicy taste to every food that the seasoning is put in, although it might be a deal-breaker for those who don’t like chilli powder.
Health
Next up are the health related aspects of these seasonings. Lots of them usually have salt and contain MSG, along with other substances that can be harmful for some. This isn’t the case with either Mrs Dash or Flavour God though.
The two are surprisingly similar in this regard. Neither have any sodium in them, nor is there any kind of MSG inside. They avoid as many chemicals as possible, except for Mrs Dash that has some chemical alternatives for salt which provide the same taste, while having absolutely no sodium involved in the mixture.
While these usually aren’t all that harmful, these chemicals do have another disadvantage which can be a bad one. They have a somewhat metallic taste.
While this isn’t noticeable at all during the time you’re eating the seasoning with the food, it can be pretty apparent after you’re done, since the metallic aftertaste is an annoying one that stays for quite some time.
Flavour God doesn’t have this or any other chemicals of the sort that might ruin the taste, being an all-natural and organic seasoning for the most part.
Affordability
Another important aspect is affordability, which is one that Flavour God usually shines in, at least in comparison to Mrs Dash. Being an older brand with lots of trust put into them by hundreds of thousands of customers, Mrs Dash’s products have gotten increasingly expensive. Flavour God usually offers seasonings at more affordable prices, providing a much better “ounce per buck” value in their products.
Flavour God’s seasonings are known for just how large their packaging can be, and each of these large containers is loaded to the brim with seasoning. While the same can be said for Mrs Dash, they usually offer less seasoning for more money, giving Flavour God the advantage here.
