Tea is one of the best drinks you can enjoy at home or anywhere else, mainly because of how many different ways you can make it. There’s so much variety, so there’s always something for everyone. Now while everyone might not enjoy hot cups of tea all the time, especially in scorching hot summer days, iced tea steps in to save the day for people that need the kick of tea to start their day.
If you’re one of these people or just want a delicious drink during a hot day, it’s hard to go wrong with iced tea. There are so many ways to make it, and so many delicious flavors you can try out. One in particular that I make most at home is lemon mint ice tea.

Ingredients
Iced tea obviously doesn’t need as many ingredients as a full-fledged meal, so the list of ingredients is going to be pretty short. That said, here’s that list so you know what you need before getting started:
- Water
- Sugar, As Per Your Need
- Tea Powder, As Per Your Need
- 1 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice
- Lemon Slices
- Mint Leaves
- Ice Cubes
Those are the only things you’ll need, which is great because it means you probably don’t even have to go to the shop to get anything. All of these things are probably already in your kitchen, and even if they aren’t, you’ll be able to find them easily at a nearby store.
Instructions
Once you’ve figured out everything with ingredients and decided how you want your lemon mint iced tea to be, this is what you’re gonna need to do…
- Boil Some Tea: Before it gets all chilly, iced tea needs to start preparing like any other type of tea. That means you need to put in some glasses of water inside a pot (as many glasses of iced tea as you want). Let this water warm up for a bit inside the pot before adding sugar (as per your preference) inside. Mix this sugar well using a wooden spoon so that it starts to gel in with the hot water. Then, add as much tea powder as you prefer inside and mix that well too. Let this sit on the stove until it starts to boil up completely!
- Prepare The Other Ingredients: Now what you need to do is getting the other stuff ready while the boiled tea cools down a little. This means cutting up some lemons and squeezing out 1 tablespoon’s worth of lemon juice from them. You’ll also want a couple of lemon slices whole for the glass, so make sure to cut those up too. You’ll also need to clean and ready mint leaves to add to the recipe.
- Get Everything Together in One Glass: Get a glass and start by adding the 1 tablespoon of lemon juice inside it first. Then, put as many lemon slices and mint leaves as you want on top of the juice. After those ingredients are done, you can add the boiled tea from earlier to the glass and start gently mixing everything together using a spoon.
- Add Ice Cubes and Serve: Top everything from the last step with a few ice cubes to make the tea nice and cold. Now you can either let the tea sit with the ice in it for some time, or serve it up immediately. It’s ready to drink up and enjoy in the heat or just as a way to freshen yourself up before or after a long day of work!
Notes
- Now, one thing I want to point out is that I didn’t exactly give many specific amounts in the ingredient list. That’s because tea is something everyone enjoys in their own way. Some people like to have it one way, while others like it a certain other way. So, I left out exact amounts so you can add sugar, tea powder, lemon slices, mint leaves, and ice cubes depending on how you want them.
- Each of these things will affect the tea in their own way, with sugar making it sweeter, lemon slices and mint leaves giving it extra flavor, tea powder making it stronger, and ice cubes making it colder. So, depending on how you feel about all these things and how much you want them, add each ingredient accordingly!
