Just like other electronic devices, your Thermador oven needs to be reset from time to time to make sure it keeps working normally. In most cases, people need to reset the oven after the power surge to make sure it starts working normally. Resetting the oven is pretty convenient and straightforward as you have to purge the control panel and let the oven boot up for a few seconds. So, if you want to reset your oven, we have the full guide to help you out!
How To Reset Thermador Oven?
The reset process for the Thermador oven is not as simple as shutting it off for a few minutes and starting using it again. For this reason, if you want to reset the oven, you need to have access to the oven, circuit breaker, and the instruction manual of your oven. Once you have these things ready, follow the below-mentioned steps;
1. Check Breaker Box
First of all, you have to check the breaker box because the power surges and fluctuations can result in the tripping of the breakers. The circuit breakers are usually labeled with the specific part of the house to which they provide power. So, locate the breaker box of your home and locate the breakers that are labeled as stove, oven, kitchen, or range. Once you locate the similar breakers, make sure that they are turned on as power surges can trip them into the off position. So, just flip the breakers in the “on” position.
2. Fuses
In case the breakers from the breaker box are flipped to the off position, you must ensure that the fuses are working properly. It’s recommended that you check the fuses, and if they are blown, they have to be replaced. It’s best that you hire an electrician to replace the damaged fuses.
3. Power Cord
Now, you have to ensure that the oven’s power cord is plugged into the back of the oven as well as in the power socket. The power cord’s location varies with the oven model, so it’s best that you consult the instruction manual. However, make sure that the oven is disconnected from power before you tweak the power cord.
4. Reset The Control Panel
The three above-mentioned steps were the preliminary steps, and the real reset process will begin now. To reset the control panel, you have to turn off the oven for a minute (make sure you don’t press any buttons during this one minute as it can lead to the locking of different features). After one minute, turn on the oven. When the control panel turns on, you need to ensure that no error messages appear on the screen. It’s recommended that you try any feature on the oven to make sure it’s working (the self-cleaning feature would be great for testing). If the feature works, it simply means that the oven has been reset and is now working normally.
