Dishwashers have made our lives a lot easier since they automate dishwashing. For this reason, a variety of brands have started offering dishwashers for easier cleaning. Thermador dishwasher is among the popular and reliable full-sized dishwasher range. They are extremely easy to set up, operate, and configure. However, like other dishwashers in the market, it becomes challenging to drain the dishwasher and if you have the same issue, let’s see how to drain the Thermador dishwasher!
How to Drain Thermador Dishwasher?
1. Stop The Dishwasher
The first step is to stop the dishwasher before you begin with the drainage process. The dishwasher is connected to the power through a power cord, so it’s recommended that you take out the power cord. It’s common for people to just switch off the dishwasher through the power button, but it’s not safe enough. So, take out the power cord.
2. Make Sure Drain Hose Is Connected
The dishwasher contains a lot of water, soap, and some leftovers from your food in it, and believe us, you don’t want the water splashing around in your kitchen. So, before you start the draining process, you have to check on the drain hose. The dishwasher’s drain hose should be connected to the drain outlet on your dishwasher properly. You also need to make sure that the drain hose’s other end is connected to a duct.
3. Be Mindful Of Clogging
Before you connect the drain hose, make sure to have a peek because there must be no clogging. That’s because if a drain hose is clogged, the water will not be able to drain out of your dishwasher, and instead, it will flood your kitchen floor. In addition, the water won’t be drained and remain within the unit, which leads to ventilation issues and cause bad odor development in the dishwasher. So, check for the clogging inside the drain hose, and clear if you find any.
4. Press The Drain Button
Now, you need to press the drain button on your dishwasher control panel after making sure the dishwasher’s drain hose is connected and cleared. As a result, the water will be drained out of the dishwasher. However, if this method doesn’t work and there are some grease or food residues in the dishwasher, it’s recommended that you use warm water.
For this purpose, you have to fill the dishwasher with fresh water and drain it a few times. In fact, you can also pour some warm water inside the dishwasher, run an empty cycle, and let it drain. These steps will be enough to properly drain and clean your dishwasher from the inside.
5. Let It Dry
Once the drainage is complete, you have to let the Thermador dishwasher dry up. That’s because water or moisture in the dishwasher will cause cleaning issues and carry a risk of electrocution. For this purpose, you can press the dry button on your dishwasher as it circulates warm air in the unit for properly drying the dishwasher. It’s best that you press the dry button a couple of times to make sure it’s enabled and is working properly.
