The ovens have become an important part of every kitchen which is why the market is loaded with various brands. That being said, Goldstar microwave ovens have become extremely famous for the high-end designs and smooth functionality. On the contrary, Goldstar microwave not heating is bugging the users and we are sharing the solutions with you!
How to Fix Goldstar Microwave Not Heating?
1. Diode
The diode in the Goldstar microwave oven is responsible for converting the AC power to DC which improves the voltage. The improved voltage then powers the magnetron and it heats the food. However, if the diode stops working or burns out, your oven won’t receive the voltage for optimal functionality and operations. In addition, it will stop heating.
For this reason, you have to inspect the diode, and if it’s failed, it will appear brown or black. If it’s burned, you have to replace the diode. If you want to be sure, you can use the multimeter for checking the continuity. In addition, we do suggest that you add the nine-volt battery with a diode to streamline the microwave operations.
2. Door Switch
Obviously, your Goldstar microwave oven has a door, so if it’s not heating up, you need to check the door switch. The door switch is responsible for properly closing the door (the heating starts only after the door is closed). So, you need to check the door switch and make sure that it’s working properly. It can be fixed by checking the continuity; if there are continuity issues, replace the door switch.
3. Magnetron
The magnetron is responsible for using the high current DC power and high voltage for developing the frequency (the frequency is responsible for cooking the food). If the magnetron is burnt out, the microwave will not heat. Keep in mind that repairing the magnetron is not possible, so just ask the technician to replace the magnetron for you.
4. Capacitor
The Goldstar microwave oven is designed with a high voltage capacitor that works with the diode for optimizing the output voltage value. So, if the high voltage capacitor is burnt out, the voltage circuit will stop working and the heating will stop. You can use the VOM meter for checking the functionality of a high voltage capacitor. If you detect issues with the capacitor, get it repaired or replaced!
5. Transformer
The microwave ovens are designed to generate high voltage for powering the magnetron and cooking the food. However, when the transformer fails, you will feel the burning smell. That being said, you must replace the transformer but make sure that you call a certified technician to help with the transformer replacement.
6. Thermal Fuse
The thermal fuse of the Goldstar microwave oven is designed to cut off the power if the oven is overheated. When the thermal fuse blows up, it can result in heating issues. We suggest that you use the multimeter for checking the thermal fuse. In case there is no continuity, it needs to be replaced. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to reset the thermal fuse, so just replace it!
