The DeLonghi has a tendency for having a stubborn infuser. Many user run into this problem, and they often make mistake when shutting down machine. Many just turn off main switch by the wall.
Turning off machine this way cuts electricity suddenly. However, it does not give internal workings time to complete its cycle. Instead, what happens is the influencer stays in the middle of its cycle rather then moving back home. When you attempt to remove it, you feel some resistance. If you force it, you can does serious damage to motor gears or plastic latches.
Proper Shutdown Procedure
It’s not about how strong you are; it’s about patience. Let machine reset and do what it needs to do. First, make sure your water tank is full and seated. Next, flip main power switch ON (either on the unit or at the wall).
Give the system a few minutes to wake up. It will take a few moments for all of its pumps and sensors to start so that internal logic board is activated and ready for commands. Let it go through whole start-up sequence. Resist your urge to speed things along here.
Depending based off the model, this could take a minute or two. When buttons respond or display illuminates you’re good to go. This is where the magic happens, and resolves the problem.
Never turn off wall switch; rather, hit control panel. There should of be power button located somewhere on front panel. Push it hard. It starts correct shutdown process.
The machine recieve the order and knows what to do. It start shutting itself down as programmed. In that moment it will automatically retract the infuser. It come back to neutral position where you can access it.
At this point you should be able to hear a slight sound of either whirring or clicking mechanically. That means motor has engaged properly. Then after pressing button to power it down, just let it sit for several seconds. Allow all electronics to come back to rest. Don’t mess with it until they have settled completey.
Now, reach in there, take it by the unit and pull it out (gently). If you did everything correctly, it’ll come right out with no resistance. As you do that, you’ll notice red latches release easily. There’s no forcing and no twisting.
That’s simply about power management: free or stuck? This little hack prevents extra hassle and can save important time. It doesn’t require tech know-how or tools. You only need hands.
Be sure to follow the shut down routine each time. This protects internal parts from getting mixed up. Most of these problems is caused by improper shut down. People want their coffee fast and turn switches as an afterthought. But those few extra seconds realy do make all the difference.
A good shut down keeps things running well with no misaligned gears and unresponsive sensors. When infuser releases properly, cleaning the thing is a breeze. Remember it next time you need to service it too. It’s simple and works every time. Just be sure to use button instead of switch. That little adjustment makes all the difference.
