Imusa Pressure Cooker Problems
1) Unable To Reach Pressure
What’s the point of having a pressure cooker if it cannot reach the pressure? Well, Imusa pressure cookers tend to showcase this issue where it’s unable to reach the pressure. With this being said, there are various reasons behind this issue.
Gasket
First of all, the pressure cooker will be unable to build pressure if the gasket is not set in the correct position. For this purpose, you need to remove the lid from the pressure cooker, along with the gasket and put it in again after cleaning. Secondly, the gasket valve might be worn because it can tear apart with time. So, remove the gasket, along with the rubber and silicon parts to ensure pressure builds up.
Lid
In some cases, the pressure will not build up if you haven’t set the lid in the correct position. So, read the instruction manual and ensure that you are using the correct position. In addition, you must ensure that the lid is properly locked into the pressure cooker. While you are checking the lids, tighten up the handles as well (according to the manual).
Valve
When the valve on the pressure cooker is placed incorrectly or is closed, the pressure buildup issues will incur. You need to remove the valve from the lid and clean it up properly. Also, always optimize the correct position of the valve.
Liquid & Ingredients
When your Imusa pressure cooker doesn’t have enough liquid in it, the pressure buildup will be impacted. Every pressure cooker model has a different capacity for liquid, so please consult the instruction manual. In addition, the liquid in the pressure cooker might be too thick to build pressure. With this being said, you must never add thickening agents to the liquid.
Secondly, if you have added too many ingredients to the pressure cooker, it will hard for it to build the pressure. For instance, you cannot use the frozen or cold ingredients in the Imusa pressure cooker. Lastly, never fill the pressure cooker too much.
2) Unable To Retain Pressure
Some Imusa users are struggling with pressure issues where the pressure cooker builds the pressure but is unable to retain the pressure. For this issue, we are sharing the common issues and solutions!
Valve
When you haven’t closed the valve properly, the pressure cooker will have a hard time building the pressure; you can also try adjusting the valve. Secondly, the safety valve might be worn out, so always replace the valve after every few months to ensure valves keep working properly.
Heat
While using the Imusa pressure cooker, you need to be vigilant about the heat settings. This is because extremely low and high temperature or heat settings will impact the pressure retaining. It’s best to check the suitable heat setting for the pressure cooker model from the manual.
3) Uncooked & Overcooked Food
With the Imusa pressure cooker, the users have been complaining about uncooked or under-cooked food. There are various reasons behind this issue, and incorrect cooking time is one of them. With this being said, you need to check the manual for optimal cooking time for a specific ingredient. On the contrary, overcooked food can be because of wide burner size and high heating temperature. For this purpose, you need to reduce the heat setting. Also, try to use the burner with a smaller size for proper heating.
4) Valve Is Spraying Foam Or Food
When the Imusa pressure cooker’s valves start spraying food or foam, there are different reasons behind it. First of all, there are chances of thickeners in the food, so it’s best to not add thickeners to food while using the Imusa pressure cooker. Secondly, the ingredients might have a specific opening method and you are using the wrong one. So, ingredients like fruits, grains, and legumes might generate foam.
